Proba...As you say, a fascinating and endless topic. Probably the key is that willpower is a faculty which needs to be exercised and developed (as in the case of meditation). At the same time, personal evolution is all about bringing more of the hitherto mechanical and automatic into the realm of consciousness, hence of choice.
