It's too bad, though, that they doesn't address the larger questions.Trishhttp://www.synchrosecrets.com/synchrosecretsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5686500107282182587.post-64405167478923524722012-06-21T00:10:44.363-07:002012-06-21T00:10:44.363-07:00A part of me is curious to see this film, for the ...A part of me is curious to see this film, for the reasons you've stated, but you did answer my question. It asks questions but does not seem to go deeper. I've never seen the "Alien" movie or its sequels. I don't see movies with ugly looking aliens because I like to go to sleep at night. So, I probably won't see this one. Thank you for the review.Sansegohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10499581529539835224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5686500107282182587.post-60364306080360171452012-06-20T20:25:09.675-07:002012-06-20T20:25:09.675-07:00I don't think too many people expect "the...I don't think too many people expect "the answer", Daz. But Scott doesn't really bother to address the question he apparently sets out to explore - other than suggesting human DNA comes from elsewhere. There's a little bit about 'faith', but again, this comes across as quite trite. Mysticism is about not knowing, but there's a profound sense of wonder in that not knowing. Unfortunately the characters are not developed enough, and we don't get to sense their innr life to any degree and so don't get any sense of the 'subjectivity' required to feel this mystical aspect of life and 'divinity'.Marcus T. Of course the refusal to answer the questions is not a ‘sin’ in itself, as great science fiction films are notoriously ambiguous in this respect."

If you have seen
"A Hitch-hikers Guide To The Galaxy",when you already know the answer to that question is -
42.
Maybe Scott didn't want to trudge over old ground by repeating the answer ?-)Brizdaz (Darren)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16218154629850982033noreply@blogger.com
