The Gratitude of Being

Emmanuel Kelly: A powerful teacher indeed

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

So began Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, written 150 years ago. But how can a single time be both good and bad? The answer is provided, in part, by another giant of English literature, William Shakespeare. In Hamlet the protagonist declares that, "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." It is the judgments that we pass on things that colour our experience. Judgments take us out of presence. Judgment blinds us to the divinity within the people we meet. It strips the day of its God-given glory.

I have always gotten a lot of spiritual guidance. I suspect that this is because I need more than most people, being a bit daft. Songs often pop into my head just when I am facing a problem, or getting caught up in the illusory world of thought and projection. One of the songs that often comes to me as guidance is The Streets of London, which was originally sung by Ralph McTell in the 1970s. It is a song about homeless people in England's largest city. The last verse and the chorus, go like this.

And have you seen the old man
Outside the seaman's mission
Memory fading with
The medal, ribbons that he wears.
In our winter city,
The rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn't care

Chorus:
So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind

I remember singing that song in primary School. Mrs Marks, our music teacher, had the wisdom to teach it to us. Even as a youngster, I remember being moved by the simple and profound message. Above all The Streets of London implores us to give thanks for what we have, and not to focus upon what is missing. Take a look around and you will see many people who have it worse than you. Much worse.

There is so much to appreciate in every day. This is why it is so important to not to allow your thoughts of unfulfilled hopes and dreams destroy the pure, simple abundance that lies at your feet this very moment.

The reason I write this short post today is that I recently saw a YouTube video which reminded me of this profound truth. It comes from the Australian talent show The X Factor, which is basically the Aussie version of American Idol. There is no need for me to say much about this video, and the wonderful and moving story that lies at the heart of it. It is the story of Emmanuel Kelly, the young man whose image fills the top of this page. He is a very special human being indeed.

Simply watch and feel.

Blessings,

Marcus

Greatness and Grandiosity: The Intuitive Profiles

List of Profiles
Barack Obama
About the intuitive profiles
For a while I have been toying with the idea of doing intuitive profiles on certain influential people. Now I am proceed ing with the project. So coming up shortly, and periodically thereafter, you will find posts here where I intuitively look into the consciousness fields of the influential, powerful and famous. I will share the information that I feel is right to communicate in a 'public' space like this.

I am intuitive, and one of the several hats I wear is that of spiritual counselor. This involves my intuitively connecting with the consciousness field of individuals and relating spiritual information to them. I learned how to do this from doing intensive and very demanding training when I lived in New Zealand over a decade ago, as I outlined in my book Discover Your Soul Template. There I worked with a spiritual group which had a prime goal of helping humanity evolve by directly working with consciousness. People who managed to stay in the group long enough (and it wasn't easy, as the requirements were incredibly tough) inevitably developed very powerful clairvoyant capacities. Actually, I already had a high degree of natural clairvoyant ability before entering the group, but my work in the group helped me develop a far higher degree of spiritual perception, as well as help me understand the way that consciousness works in and around us all.

The reason I tell you this is because it can be just as easy for me to read the energy field of, say, Barack Obama, as it is to read the energy field of a client I am sitting with. It all depends, though, on whether there is an intuitive connection. Sometimes the connection just isn't there. This is a sign that the 'reading' is not meant to be. This can happen with a client, or with someone distant. When there is no connection I don't try to force it. I just let it go, and if that means telling the person I'm with that "Sorry, this is not right", then that is what I do.

It is very important that people learn to develop their intuition, then trust it. It is vital for the future of the human species. In turn, it is crucial that people learn to distinguish amongst the many voices from within our minds that compete for conscious attention. This requires that you understand the nature of ego, and the games that it plays. Most of your suffering, and the suffering that has been perpetrated on this planet throughout the course of human history, has emerged from the projections of the human ego, and the power and control it attempts to impose on others and the world.

The following table is taken from Discover Your Soul Template. It delineates the fundamental distinctions between the voice of Spirit (the inner Sage), and the voice of ego. Sorry that the images from the book are slightly blurry, as I had to convert them from pdf files.

The ego/sage distinction is very important in terms of the intuitive profiles you will soon read on 22C+. Those in power who are more closely aligned with ego tend to bring delusion and suffering to the people, while those who are in touch with the Sage energy tend to bring humanity closer to spiritual truth, peace and love.

The important point to note is that my intuitive profiles will ignore what any given leader says, and move directly into a reading of their energy; their Soul Template. The Soul Template is the information encoded within the consciousness field of an individual.

Ego is a trickster, and often uses the language of the Sage to deceive.

All this relates very closely to the Soul Issues of the person being profiled. We all have Soul Issues, the habits of consciousness that we project out into the world. They are in large part a function of our biography - what has happened to us in our lives. I also believe they relate strongly to what happened to us in previous lives. We project out onto the world from the basis of our worldview. In turn our worldview is greatly shaped by our pain, and the conditioning which that trauma has created within our mind/body system. Ultimately the ego is a protective mechanism that is trying to ensure your survival. But the strategies that it employs can be destructive. The ego can stop us from healing, from evolving. And it can can damage others.

When the ego attempts to deceive and manipulate it creates shadow energy: hidden intention within the human mind. Like all intention, this has a 'force' of its own. I call it 'dark energy' or 'darkness' because intuitively it appears as being dark, without light. The language of dark energy is manipulation, control, power over others, shame, fear, and rape (literally, sometimes). Some leaders are very 'dark', while others are more 'light'. I will be very clear on this with the specific people I do intuitive profiles on.

Taking a step back, we can see that there are strong recurring motifs for we, the human species, in terms of soul issues. I refer to the collective expression of humanity's Soul Issues as "the prime issues of the Human Oversoul." They are listed in this diagram from Discover Your Soul Template.
The purpose of this post has been to outline some of the important information about what I am 'reading' when I do these intuitive profiles. What I am actually doing is describing the Soul Template of the person. The key for you is to develop a strong awareness of your own ego and Sage, become familiar with your Soul Template, and then be able to see others more clearly. Then you won't need to read my intuitive profiles, because you will be able to 'see' clearly into the hearts of those who are meant to serve us.

The Need for Suffering

In fairy tales there is always a happy ending, and the prince and princess sail off into the sunset, hand in hand. Real life is not quite like that, as well all know. There is happiness, and there is unhappiness. Sometimes “bad” things happen and there is suffering. And you have little or no control over such things.

Carl Jung knew very well that legitimate suffering is necessary for full mental health. He knew that the avoidance of one’s emotional pain eventually results in neurosis – and in psychosis in worst case scenarios.

Some New Age and positive psychology philosophies tell us that we can control the way we think and feel, either completely or to a very high degree. NLP practitioners (if I may generalise), for example, tend to believe that if we feed the right suggestions into the mind, and reprogramme it, that we can have unimagined success and happiness.

Here’s the problem as I discovered it after spending years working deeply on the human psyche, and on the emotional body. The human psyche, and the emotional body to which it is so closely associated, is largely inaccessible to conscious command. You can work in partnership with it, but direct control is out of the question – at least as far as I am aware.

Thirteen years ago I awoke with the theme from the TV show MASH playing in my head. That song is Suicide is painless. Two hours later two policemen knocked on the door and told me that my young brother Jerome had killed himself during the night. It was a terrible tragedy, and as you can imagine, heart wrenching beyond words. I was staying at my mother’s place at the time, because we had gathered for my father’s funeral (he died a few days earlier). At that time I had already done a lot of work on my emotional body, and I just had to let out an almost unimaginably vast wave of grief and anger. Knowing that my family members would never be able to deal with that emotional release, I drove out in my mother’s car to a country road, parked the car, and just let it all out. I screamed and raged, beating the car seat till my fists were almost bleeding. I did not censure anything, and let “God” have it all. I channeled every bit of emotional energy within me. As I did this, I dialogued with that wounded part of myself. I spoke to it like a loving and wise father would speak to a child.  Then I drove home.

The next day, much grief and rage remained. So I drove out to the same place and did it all over again. On the third day, my energy had settled, and there was no need for a repeat. However, ever since that time, whenever some energy from that event surfaces, I deal with it right away. The result is that today I have processed almost all the energy of that event. I am honestly at peace with it. And if more energy from that event arises in the future, I will let go and allow it a voice once again.

In contrast, many people hold onto the grief, anger and guilt they have in relation to life’s tragedies and failings. Well meaning friends tell them, “You can never really recover from…”

They do not heal.

I’m not going to pretend that this kind of work is easy. It takes tremendous self-discipline and courage. One has to surrender to something greater than oneself. Forever.

A week ago I had a simple dream. I was in a room and there was a fire in a fireplace, and it was starting to burn out of control. I rushed over and tired to throw some water on it. Meanwhile I saw that outside there was a rising flood of water threatening to engulf the house.

The meaning of the dream was obvious to me. The fire represented anger, while the flood represented a huge wall of emotional energy, most likely associated with grief.

The problem was that as I analysed the dream I didn’t feel sad or angry at all. In fact I felt good. Great even. So I just put it aside and forgot about it. Then, about four days later my energy shifted, and my consciousness field became heavy. Over the following three days it became gradually heavier and heavier. I felt like I was weighed down by a huge wet blanket.

As an intuitive I can read the nature and causes of such energy shifts pretty well, but in this case it took me three days to really see what it was about. The reason it took that long was because I wasn’t ready to see it. Or, more to the point, I was not ready to feel it. Sometimes the ego is sneaky, and the psyche is just not ready to deal with something, and you have to respect that.

But by this afternoon, I knew what it was, and when I got home from work, set aside an hour to process the energy. To do this, I simply allowed myself to be immersed in divine light. I called on the light to grant me the courage to acknowledge and feel whatever I needed to feel. I completely relaxed. I let go. What followed was a succession of regressions into past relationships with my father, mother and older brother. Finally I was taken back into a previous life where “I” died alone and abandoned in a dark space, possibly a cave or dungeon. The sense of helplessness, hopelessness and absolute rage at God and the universe was immense. Certainly far more intense than most people would be able to witness without becoming greatly disturbed. This is why I do this work alone. When witnesses are unable to receive the pain without judgment, they unconsciously attempt to block the emotional energy. They do this by trying to save/comfort the person (this blocks the full expression of the emotion), or by attacking the part of the body associated with the emotional disturbance. This happens unconsciously via projections of consciousness.

Very few healers, either mainstream or alternative are aware of how such projections can prevent healing from happening.

One thing that you have to appreciate is that all people are unique. Our childhoods and past lives are different. Some of us carry great scars within the soul, while others are relatively light of spirit. The truth is that you have no control at all over the soul and karmic issues, at least not until you are old enough (and bold enough) to acknowledge them. The energy of these will arise in you at the perfect time and place, according to the will of Spirit. Last night was a full moon, and the surfacing of my own pain coincided perfectly with the lunar cycle. Your psyche, too, rides waves of energy that you are not conscious of, that are out of your control.

You can learn to ride those waves. But it takes time, focus, intention, and much courage.

The reward for all this is being able to process latent energy within our consciousness fields, and to allow our emotional energies to pass freely through us, rather than becoming blocked. Much depression, neurosis and projection are thus avoided. We become much lighter, in more than once sense of the word.

It is not success which frees us, but suffering. Legitimate suffering.
