Should We Fight the Darkness?

http://www.drjeanetteraymond.com/images/pushing%20face%20into%20sand%20frustration.gif

In my last post I wrote about how important free will is to the development of human futures, to consciousness evolution. Today I am going to briefly address a question which touches upon that same issue: should we fight the darkness? I define 'darkness' as human unconsciousness trapped in the dream of separation.

Although it is not presently recognised in mainstream science and education, consciousness has field properties, and is not localised to the brain. Each of us is centred within overlapping pools of consciousness: family, friends, work colleagues, race, religion/worldview and ultimately the human species.

Human intention has force, and it has a particularly strong effect on other minds. And unfortunately it is the human desire for power and control over other people and life itself that has the most immediate and powerful effect on other minds. When I first learned to read and feel consciousness fields I was shocked - indeed terrified - at what I saw. We, the human species, are constantly attempting to belittle, shame, dominate and manipulate the thoughts, feelings and behaviours of others. These intentions manifest themselves in fields of intention which cross from one mind to another. The bad news is that you are not the victim. Regardless of whatever your particular role you adopt in any given drama in your life, you are responsible for dealing with your part in it.

Having said that, some people are particularly lost in the dream of separation, and because of their pain and fear, they are very destructive in terms of the psychic energy they throw about - unconsciously. There is an approximate correlation between 'dark' consciousness fields and negative and destructive human behaviour. Generally, the nasty, petty and manipulative people of the world are the ones with the darkest fields of intention. But it is not always a perfect correlation. Some people who might be called - to use apolitically correct terms - bastards and bitches - may have relatively benign energy fields. This is usually the case when the person is not suppressing emotional energy: what you see is what you get. On the other hand, some 'nice' people can have very dark fields of intention. These are usually people who have been deeply damaged, have a lot of anger, guilt and shame within their psyches, but who hide it from the world - usually because they fear the disapproval of others.

So 'evil' has two basic components: real-world action and behaviour, and fields of intention.

What should we do when we are being affected by people who are hurting us or emitting destructive energy at us? There are some schools of thought which suggest that we are incapable of such action.

These might include those who feel free will is an illusion. I dealt with this idea in my last post. I do not agree with this position.

A second group are those whom I like to call the 'love 'n light' brigade, and they are common to new age culture. They believe that all things happen for a reason, for the greater good, and that we need not challenge that. In this way of thinking, even the greatest acts of human evil are 'meant to be', and good eventually comes of them. My take on this position is that it is naive in the extreme. It is true that there is a greater evolution of consciousness occurring, and that all things contain the potential for consciousness expansion. We all move towards the light in the end. Yet this does not do much good to the Jew being shipped off to the concentration camp, the Tibetan who is forbidden to practice his religion in peace, or the Australian Aborigine as he looks about and sees that the mission where he lives is stuck in an extreme state of poverty and helplessness.

As I have pointed out in Discover Your Soul Template, anger can be a positive catalyst for change. It can help people break out of the victim state, and change a sense of powerlessness into a state more ready for affirmative action. This is the power that Gandhi tapped into in South Africa and India. There was anger in Gandhi: make no mistake about that. He was no saint.

The key though, is that in any given drama, there is a psychic component playing out, and it is mediated via our thoughts, emotions, ingrained beliefs, childhood pain - and I believe, karmic beliefs and pain. There are also collective beliefs and intentions impacting many personal dramas. People who really wish to take an affirmative response when confronted with 'darkness' will ideally acknowledge their own role in proceedings, and engage in some kind of spiritual or introspective process to get a greater awareness of what these are. This is part of any truly empowered response to 'evil'.

The biggest mistake is to fight from a position of fear, blame and hatred. When this happens, you simply become another monster. The human ego is defined by blind stubbornness. It simply will not be told, will not allow itself to lose face. It is by nature delusional. This is why it is better in 99 per cent of cases to simply step aside when you meet the tiger on the path. A common example is people outraged by racism against 'my people'. In virtually every case they become lost in hatred of the race they see as 'the racists'. But talk to one of the 'haters' from the other race, and they will say the same thing about the race accusing them of racism.

'Haters gonna hate', wrote someone on the comments section of my second last post about the late Australian bodybuilder Zyzz. He was writing about me. The irony is that he apparently could not see that the barrage of expletive and shame-laden comments on that post were themselves hateful in the extreme. But that is the nature of ego. It is blind unto itself. That post is a perfect example of a 'drama' where it is both unwise and unnecessary to challenge unconsciousness - which is by definition, unconscious.

It also pays to remember that ego feels threatened by the judgement of others, and normally reacts by hitting out. This is because all judgment emerges from a subtle desire to destroy or eliminate the object of judgment. So as soon as you express any judgment of the 'monster', he will most likely respond aggressively. So gently acknowledge any judgments you may have towards the other, confess them to God, and forgive yourself for being human. The result of this is often a feeling of love and forgiveness for the one you previously believed to be 'bad'.

As Chinese mystic Lao Zi wrote 2600 years ago, to the outsider the wise man looks week as he yields or walks away. But often this is the most empowered response. It is not necessary to worry about gaining the approval of others, or worrying about how you are perceived. It is much better to be free, and at peace.

There are of course times when assertive action needs to be taken. This is most commonly the case where there is an immediate threat, or where the unconscious party is causing you unnecessary suffering. But I will not go into that here (There is a chapter in my book Extraordinary Mind - "Surfing with the Psychopath" - where I deal with this.)

Daily Insight: The Importance of Forgiveness

Marcus T Anthony's new web site and blog can be found at: www.mind-futures.com.

Forgive your brother seventy times seven, Jesus said. But forgiveness, at its deepest level, is more than just an intellectual decision. This is because the deepest levels of blame and hatred are founded in personal trauma and the fear that surrounds it. To take an extreme example, a rape victim would most likely find it quite difficult to truly forgive the man who raped her.

I believe that there can be no genuine forgiveness before healing occurs.

One thing I realised when I learned how to read and feel consciousness projections (the energy of people’s thoughts), was that I had not forgiven certain people who had hurt me in my past. I knew this because I was still projecting anger at them, and they were ‘responding’ by continuing to project destructive energy at me. In other words, I was repeating the same drama over and over again at a psychic level. This happens to all of us until we ‘get’ the lesson, and we experience healing.

To some extent healing is out of our control. To twist a common saying, you can lead the wounded child to Lourdes, but you can’t make him jump in the water! Healing is in part an act of Grace, and I have been conscious that at times in my life I have received healing energy from spiritual sources.

Which gets me to the daily insight. This last week I have been experiencing a lot of destructive energy interactions with some male relatives. In particular, I was having problems with an older man, who I shall call Shane. To put it as simply as I can, I was being badly psychically attacked by these males, and it was greatly affecting my level of well-being. Psychic attacks have a strong effect on people’s energy fields – headaches, drowsiness, nightmares, a sense of dislocation or disembodiment are typical symptoms. What I do when I find myself in such exchanges - as I have pointed out in my book Discover Your Soul Template - is connect with my inner child, and allow that part of myself to express how it feels. Usually find that it is experiencing a combination of anger, blame, shame, sadness and fear.

The energy was so bad this past week that I was doing two sessions a day on it, one before and one after work. But the energy just didn’t shift. Yet two days ago I tried a new process which had immediate impact. After channeling my own anger and blame, I felt my own consciousness field and saw right away that the dark energy was still the same. I’d been working tirelessly on the issue for a week, and I knew that I had to stop struggling. So I prayed to God and made a confession that I did not understand what was happening, and that I needed help. But I did not demand help. I simply surrendered to God’s will, and let go. As always happens, I immediately relaxed, and felt a sense of gratitude and love.

I then energetically connected with the two male energies (they are brothers - Shane is still living, the other passed on), by bringing them into my mind’s eye. I was having trouble feeling any sense of compassion for them, and part of this was that I was actually scared of them. When we are scared of others, we naturally turn ourselves away from them energetically. In fact when there is great fear, we turn and run! (When this happens, you might find yourself having nightmares of running away from a threatening person or monster).

Somehow the idea came to me to connect with Shane’s inner child, and straight away I found myself looking at him as a child. I found myself gazing at a little freckle-faced boy, and I saw his own father standing behind him. There was a strong sense of how he had been bullied by the father (The bullied had become the bully). As I looked at that child I immediately relaxed further, and was able to connect with him. I felt genuine compassion, and words spontaneously came from within me, “I love you, I forgive you.” There was no need to force them, as the feelings were genuine. I put my hand out in front of me and channeled healing energy towards him. Whenever I opened my eyes I could see blue light around my hands. I prayed for Shane to find healing, asking God for help. I stayed in that energy for five minutes or so. It was very peaceful, and the connection was strong.

When we are scared of psychic bullies, and we turn and run away, it grants them power over us. It is only when we can turn and face them energetically that we can really stand in our power. By connecting with Shane’s inner child I was able to distil my own fear, and face him. After the session, the energy (the drama) had dissipated, and it has not returned.

So there is my little insight for the day. If you are having trouble forgiving someone, try seeing their inner child, and even praying for them. In this way you may find it easier to forgive them, and healing will naturally follow.

The Consciousness of Skepticism

Behind die-hard skepticism lies a fear of loss of control, of the feminine, of annihilation and ultimately rage at the universe itself. Extreme skepticism is thus a projection. In this video I use a channeling process to connect with the consciousness of skepticism as a collective mind. Behind much of human behaviour, and lying embedded within all written, visual and verbal information there are consciousness fields which can influence perception. They are typically invisible and unconsciousness, but influence both the information being conveyed, and the way the perceiver receives that information.

"Connecting with the field" is a process I learned from working with spiritual teachers in years gone by. You can learn more about it in my book Sage of Synchronicity.

Are Your Gadgets Making You Sick?

One of the benefits of being a "sensitive" is that I can sense the harmful effects of certain environmental "hazards". This awareness often comes as an intuitive feeling, but it also comes in dreams and visions. Often when I am meditating or sleeping, small "movies" will play in my head, and they will convey some information about something.

One thing that I have seen repeatedly is the harmful effect of electrical fields on the human body and mind. In these visions I will suddenly see electricity shooting forth, sometimes electrifying my body. The times these visions occur are almost always after extended use of laptop computers. Let me say this as something that I am absolutely certain of. If you use a laptop computer on your lap, you are doing some real damage to your body and your consciousness field.

Researcher and parapsychologist Michael Persinger showed quite clearly that there is a correlation between nightmares and the presence of electrical devices close to beds. In one instance, a girl reported being attacked by evil spirits. Persinger is a sceptic. When he investigated the case, the first thing he did was remove an alarm clock from a drawer near the girl's bed. The "psychic attacks" stopped. Persinger concluded that the electrical field of the clock disturbed the electrical activity of the girl's brain, making her have nightmares.

I would go a little further than Persinger. As someone who is very aware of the consciousness fields of other people and even of disembodied beings (call them spirits if you like), I have seen repeatedly that over-exposure to electrical fields opens the human aura to manipulation and even possession by low-density consciousness fields and entities.

My intuitive reading also indicates that there is a correlation between over-exposure to electrical fields and depression. This depression follows from the degeneration of the person's energy field, and/or from the psychic interference.

What can you do about this? Here are some suggestions, and they are all common sense.
  1.  If you live next to a power plant, sell the house (preferably to someone who voted for GWB). If you can't sell it, give it away.
  2. Turn off all electrical devices if you are not using them, including at the power point.
  3. Minimise mobile phone calls.
  4. Never, ever, ever use a laptop on your lap. This is psychic suicide.
  5. Gong the gadgets! It really perturbs me to see the onset of the gadget culture. Even in their spare moments on the bus or subway, many people are glued to iPods, laptops and fancy mobile devices. Run! Run away!
  6. If you have your mobile around at night, keep it well away from your bed. Better still, turn it off.
  7. Avoid electric blankets.
  8. Keep note of what lies on the other side of the wall if your bed is up against the wall. If there is a TV, CD Player or electrical appliance on the other side of the wall, make sure you turn it off before you go to bed.
  9. If you use computers for a long time, take breaks where you get away from the machine. Get outside for a few minutes if you can, and preferably to a place where there is fresh air, grass, trees, or a body of running water. The natural ions in the air will help restore your energy field. Go bare foot if you can!
  10. A wooden table is probably best between the computer and you.
  11. Nominate at least one computer/gadget free day per week, if possible.
I can't prove any of this, but there is a body of research which provides some evidence (see the article by Stephen Goldate for Living Now magazine.

To live your Bliss, you need to find the right spark! However, the electric kind are not recommended!
