Light Ch 28: The Journey of Light

I describe my online novel Light as “semi-autobiographical”. Many of the 'paranormal' things in the book actually happened to me. The one described in this latest chapter is one of those real events.

Not everything described in the novel  happened literally, but many ‘events’ occurred in a general sense, or alternatively in psychic space. For example, in Chapter 15 the main character, Greg Marks, is struck by lightning, and has a near death experience.  I have never had a near death experience. But I have had many dreams of being struck by lightning, and it represents a blast of spiritual energy or light passing into the body, which I definitely have experienced many times. The account of leaving the body, as described in the chapter, is taken from many out of body experiences I have had over many years. Further, quite a few of the images that Greg witnesses in this chapter are quite literally visionary images which I have experienced during meditation or dreaming. For example, the image of tornadoes is a recurring one, and they represent a convergence of dark, powerful, destructive psychic energies. The hearing of the voice from a disembodied being is also a common one I have experienced many times.

In short, I am not just making all this up, and it is constructed from realities which are very real for me.

The book is fictional in the sense that most of the trivial conversational details did not occur. It also packs about twenty years of life experiences into a short time frame. I did work with a spiritual group, similar to the one depicted in the novel, but details are changed to protect the privacy of the said individuals.

The main character is not me precisely, but is probably more me than not. I’m a bit too boring to use as the protagonist!

The encounter with the spiritual guide, as described in this latest chapter, is pretty much word for word accurate of such an experience I had, only at the age of about 26. I referred to this incident in Discover Your Soul Template.

Here’s a short extract from the chapter.

Blessings,

Marcus

I don’t think I had been asleep more than a few minutes when I became aware of her standing there. She was a woman of youngish appearance, with long flowing dark hair. She was standing beside the bed, looking at me intently. I say I ‘saw’ her, but it was not with my eyes that I was looking. After all, I was asleep - or almost asleep - and my eyes were closed. I could feel her gentle hands moving above me, gentle, caressing me. They were softer, more motherly than any mother I had ever known in my childhood. There was a soft light emerging from her head, arms and body. An energy of tender love filled the room. She began to speak, not so much with words, as with thoughts.

“There is much hurt in you, although you do not know it yet. There is much healing for you to do.”

I listened. There was nothing to say, nothing I should say. Nothing I could say. There was merely her grace, and I was not required to respond. That is something that I just knew. She continued to move her hands above my body, centering around my chest and abdomen. I knew that she was helping me heal.

“You are only using three per cent of your mind at present.”

There were no more words than that, but there came the understanding that there was much more that I could do to expand my mind, my consciousness. I lay there, allowing her peaceful energy to fill me. There was peace.

The Mind Reader

Light, Chapter 27: The Mind Reader
Below, you will find an excerpt of this chapter of my online novel. To read the rest of the chapter click here.

"There are certain requirements that we need to address before we accept people into the Journey of Light", Julie said. We are not a car club."

"Yes. Yes. Of course. I understand."

"Do you?" She looked at me in a way that made me shift uncomfortably. She didn't speak for what seemed like half a minute, though it was probably just a few seconds. What was she talking about? Was there going to be some weird initiation ceremony or something?

"The first thing we need to determine is where are you sitting currently on your spiritual journey? Where are you right now?” She turned round, picked up a marker and drew a long horizontal line across the whiteboard. “This line, this continuum, represents human consciousness evolution. This left side of the line represents zero, and the far right one hundred per cent of full consciousness. So, where are you on this line right now?" She then placed a finger on the line, and quickly moved it from left to right. Unfortunately for me her finger didn't go very far. In fact it came to a stop right near the beginning. Near the zero point. "This is where you are right now." She drew a short horizontal mark at the relevant point on the line. It was definitely less than five per cent or so.

"And this is where I am." Julie then did the same thing again, only this time her finger went much further along the line. She made a mark at about the half way point along the line.

I looked at my humble placing near the zero point, and hers at around the fifty per cent mark. I flinched. Who the hell did this woman think she was? Did she think I was a moron or something? A guy who just walked in off the street and who didn’t know anything about human consciousness?  I had been studying the subject in my own time for months, and the Awakening had given me abilities which most people could only dream of!

“I see’” I said. What I really wanted to do was tell her to go screw herself. The sheer arrogance of the woman! It was obvious that I already knew all the kind of  stuff she had been going on about; and had even worked it out on my own without needing some cult to brainwash me. And I certainly didn’t need some female Jesus wannabe with an inflated ego to tell me what to think. I would have walked out right then and there, if not for what happened next. And what happened next shocked my very soul in a way that nothing I’d ever experienced had.

Julie looked at me blankly. She was not smiling now, although she did not look displeased either. “I’m just going to channel your ego towards me right now, just to let you see it more clearly for yourself.” Before I’d even had time to work out what she meant by that, she stood up, and moved to the centre of the room. Suddenly her entire demenour changed from that of  a relaxed new age lady guru to one of angry agitation. Her voice became terse, abrupt. The sudden shift was shocking.

“Do you know who I am! I already know all this stuff!” She was pacing back and forward like a caged animal. Her entire body had become tense, her breathing shallow, her voice raspy. It was a frightening transformation. “I know more than you do! I can see, I can. I can see! I know this already! I know it.”

I was looking at her, and I could hear what was going on. But I could barely look, barely listen. The woman had ripped open something from within me, something very personal, very secret. She was reading my mind. And not just any part of my mind. She was reading the nasty part. There was more.

“So don’t tell me what to think you stupid bitch! I know more than you do! I’m special! I can see more than anyone! I’m superior to you! So fuck off. I’m out of here!”

At this point, mercifully, she stopped. From the hot feeling on my face I knew my cheeks had turned red, flushed. For a few seconds I sat there in denial. This was not me she had just mind read. No. This was somebody else, somebody dark. Somebody arrogant, angry and judgmental. Somebody else. But weren’t these the very thoughts that had been circulating through my mind just a minute or two before? I just wanted to run away. I felt, ashamed. Terrified. Naked.

So this was mind reading. I had always supposed that if it was real that it would be exciting and fun. A game played by children who believed in flying carpets, magical kingdoms, and fairies. Instead it was terrifying.

"Light", Chapter 25: FF

Light, Chapter 25: FF
To read the rest of the chapter (or novel), click on the chapter title, above. There's a short extract below.

Professor Forsen picked up the creased piece of paper from the manilla folder, and put on his reading glasses.
“I note that you failed the Philosophy 3A exam, where you attempted to answer only one question, and even in that you were awarded a zero grade by the marker. You wrote – and, um, I do quote here: “Western science is a deluded mishmash of forced extrapolations violently extracted from a cosmos that it does not understand, let alone feel. Newtonian science is the violent, rapacious organ of patriarchy, pillaging and violating all that stands before it. Universities have prostituted themselves, selling their souls to the phallus of dissociated patriarchy. Any academic moron who had done the slightest amount of introspection would know this.”
He removed the glasses, and sat there looking at me.
“Oh, and one of your blank answer sheets was folded into the shape of a jet aeroplane.”
“Yes, I believe that is correct, Sir.”

The Intuitive Review: Romanek's "Messages"

Stan Romanek has written a book called Messages: The World's Most Documented Alien Abduction Story. It makes for a fascinating story. Romanek tells of more paranormal experiences than you'd find at Madam Blavatsky's family reunion on the other side. Romanek sees 'grey' aliens on numerous occasions, witnesses UFOs, and is chased by them while driving along country roads. He is also apparently abducted by aliens, and has several experiences of awakening in strange places with bloody noses, or dressed in other people's clothes. Romanek then finds the ubiquitous alien implant  near his hip, and extracts it. He even scribbles equations related to string theory in his sleep, despite the fact that he has only a primary school level of math ability.

Then there are numerous instances of his being tagged by mysterious people. They appear to be government operatives.

There are some aspects of the story which make at least some of it seem plausible. He does supply images of aliens, UFOs and so on. And the level of detail in the story is impressive. Each incident is embellished with fairly mundane real world happenings which make them seem credible. Romanek is at pains to state that he doesn't really understand what is happening to him, and has no definitive explanation for it all. He believes that at least some of his experiences may be set ups by (presumably) government agents to make him lose credibility. He is as confused as the rest of us!

If nothing else, the book makes for a rollicking good tale. In fact I couldn't help but thinking it would make a great movie.

One supporting fact is that there appear to be witnesses for some of the events described by Romanek, although it has to be admitted that most are Romanek's relatives and friends. But not all. In the intro by co-author and paranormal researcher J. Allan Danelek, Danelek tells how he and many others witnessed UFOs at a Romanek public talk. During a break in proceedings, Danelek and others wandered outside, and witnessed "a number of tiny and rapidly moving lights spinning in a tight clockwise spiral" a few hundred feet overhead. Danelek writes that his skepticism about Raomanek's claims became less pronounced after the event.

Further, Danelek and several other credible individuals write testaments Romanek's honesty and sanity in the book, so that is certainly reassuring for the reader.

Yet in the end I have to go with my gut feeling that something is not right about this entire affair. My intuitive reading of Romanek is that there is a strong drive for attention within his psyche. There is an imperative within his psyche expressing a desire to become famous, and I intuit a notable motivation for money also. I sense elements of childhood abuse within his psyche, and this can often be a trigger for a certain psychological distortions in later life.

Related to this last point is that a recurring communication given to Ramanek by the aliens and other sources is that he is "special". The desire to be special is a normal agenda of the human ego. It tends to be associated with relatively lower levels of spiritual maturity, not higher levels, where the ego tends to be sublimated, even as the 'spirit' expands'. How Romanek is 'special' is not clarified, except on one occasion where one alleged intercepted government memo testifies that his "capacity for abstraction is off the map." As I have written many times, abstraction (as a cognitive process) does not grant one the capacity to perceive the intuitive realms of mind and cosmos. Abstraction is actually a left-brained, dissociative process that may actually retard intuitive perception if it becomes unbalanced. Of course perhaps the way the memo writer used the word "abstraction" was intended to convey a different meaning.

Another factor that concerns me is that the psychic energy around Romanek appears to me to be quite 'dark'. Some of the paranormal apparitions which he describes are consistent with projections of psychic energy from other people or discarnate entities. I have a lot of experience with such things, as some of the energy I have had to deal with in my life has been dark in nature. At one point Romanek describes seeing dark shadows lurking around his house. In fact this is how the psyche will often 'depict' dark energy, especially when we are relaxed or falling asleep. Such perception is most easily seen with the peripheral vision, rather than straight on. Note that this dark energy is not necessarily a 'ghost', but most often comes from the shadow psyche of other living people whom we are emotionally bonded to. The 'apparition' may also be the actual astral body of the person who is doing the projecting. Note that the energy is projected unconsciously. It is 'dark' in the sense that the energy often has malevolent intentions - control, power, shame, sexual projections and so on. So the effect is often 'cold' or frightening. A lot of reported 'hauntings' are actually conscious projections from living people, and have nothing to do with the place where the 'haunting' is occurring. In such cases moving house won't change a thing, as we are connected to our 'demons' non-locally. My sense is that there is a lot of this kind of energy about Stan Romanek.

It is difficult to give a positive assessment of Messages. It is certainly not a book I would take at face value, nor would I simply blindly trust what Romanek writes. There is a strong level of deception occurring here, and it seems to be a combination of both deliberate and self-deception. Yet there may be filaments of fact behind at least some incidents. Yet in the end, I can only get a very low truth reading of the book, no more than fifteen per cent at most.

The Intuitive Review: LeShan's "Paranormal"

Lawrence LeShan’s A New Science of the Paranormal is a very readable and excellent tome, which seeks to address the way forward for research into the paranormal and fringe areas of consciousness research. Lawrence LeShan is a veteran researcher in the field, and at just 125 pages, this book makes for a quick, enjoyable and thought-provoking read.

As with my other intuitive reviews, I will take a look at not only the explicit knowledge detailed in the book, but I will also add my intuitive insights into the writer, and the way his psyche has helped shape the book. I am a spiritual counselor, so in this process I apply a similar process to that which I apply when counseling people: I intuitively glean information from the psyche – in this case that of the writer. It shouldn’t surprise you then, that I am a “proponent” in the so-called “psi-wars.”

In A New Science LeShan argues passionately for the argument that the paranormal is crucial to understanding our place in the cosmos.  Contemporary science and philosophy have created an extreme distortion of experience which alienates us from our spiritual roots, and psi experience can help redress that imbalance. I am reminded of Susan Blackmore’s 1996 paper “What can psi teach us about consciousness?” Blackmore concluded that it can teach us nothing, basically because it doesn’t exist, and especially in lieu of her belief that consciousness does not have agency. LeShan’s and Blackmore’s perspectives are diametrically opposite, yet the question is crucial. Let me then be clear. My long experience in working with the intuitive mind leads me to conclude that LeShan is correct. Blackmore’s position, although supported by mainstream establishment thinking in science, is simply wrong. As LeShan states, this is a question of monumental importance, and I believe that A New Science is a little step in the right direction. LeShan calls the quest to understand psi “a terribly important adventure” and “the wild card in our seemingly hopeless attempt to get the human race off the endangered species list.” (p. 18)

LeShan lists four definitive ways “psychical research” can help move us forward. The following outcomes might occur if “the existence of large-scale psi events becomes part of the background assumptions in our culture.” (100)

1.       The idea that we are separate, isolated entities will change.
2.      We will see ourselves both as individuals and as part of something much greater. This is in line with the teachings of many spiritual traditions.
3.      As a result of the first two points, the way we behave towards each other and the planet will change.
4.      These changes will be of a significant scale, such that they will help the human race survive its current critical evolutionary impasse. (p. 101)

These are all positive outcomes which I concur can happen. However... (click below to read more)

Is There Life After Death, & Other Questions Answered (1)

So I’m not Jesus Christ, but I have spent a couple of decades in often intense intuitive practice. As I outline in my book Discover Your Soul Template, I learned an enormous amount from the processes taught to me by a spiritual group in New Zealand, going back over a decade now. What I can do that many intuitives cannot is feel and read consciousness fields at a profound level. I am also a natural clairvoyant, and from the moment I began to mediate about twenty years ago I found I had dreams and visions which often emerged from spiritual sources. I had little religious upbringing, and I had no knowledge or awareness of my intuitive abilities, nor any belief in psychic phenomena till I was about 26 years old. So I had very little spiritual baggage to jettison. I was not a Catholic, a Buddhist, a Muslim or a New Ager. I was just me. In fact I was an avowed atheist and empiricist before I began to meditate. But circumstances soon forced me to change my mind.

So, from my humble first person perspective, what metaphysical and spiritual claims are true, and what are hocus pocus? Here I am going to share a few things I have seen first hand over the years. My stance is that any spiritual concept that is shown to be wrong or limited has to be described as just that. I have come to reject quite a few concepts over the years, even ones that I once “believed” in.

What I share here is not based on reading or research, but on direct perception. I have done a lot of reading and research, but direct perception is the best form of knowledge when it comes to these things. I’ll share some things in this post, and some in the next post. The post will be too long if I put them all together.

I’m not saying I have the final word on any of these things. This is just what I have seen, and the conclusions I have drawn from what I have seen.

Needless to say, any or all of the following truth claims has the potential to offend, and to contradict your belief structures. If you find yourself getting angry at what I write, that’s not necessarily bad. Feel free to add your own insights in the comments section, or ask questions or challenge anything.
Basically, I will qualify each statement according to degrees of certainty.

True/False = there is no question that this is correct/incorrect, and I have perceived it too many times for there to be any doubt.
True/False Beyond Reasonable Doubt = the direct evidence is so overwhelming that you can pretty much clock it up as true.
Probably true/false = this appears to be the case/not the case, but it is not quite in the realm of definite
Maybe true = I have had some experiences which suggest this, but I am uncertain

So here we go...

1) Mind extends beyond the brain. True
I still find it almost incredible that this most obvious fact is still denied in mainstream science and education (I have to remind myself that science is still in its infancy). The mind exists in a sea of information, entangled with other minds and consciousness fields. The brain mediates consciousness, but does not generate it. I am not sure how consciousness expresses itself without the brain (see point 2), since the brain so clearly has an enormous effect on the way consciousness expresses itself. It seems likely to me that the etheric body (see point 7) has an etheric brain, and that this etheric brain survives death. But this may not be the full explanation.

2) There is life after death. True Beyond Reasonable Doubt
I have had numerous instances of communication with relatives who have passed on. Sometimes they come to me and say things. Other times I find my mind and theirs entangled, because of some unresolved issues between us. Or often I just see them in a dream or a vision, and this is usually because there is some relevance in the connection for me. For example, one time I simply witnessed a deceased male relative of mine in a state of extreme emotional distress. He was basically experiencing extreme guilt at having sexually molested two female relatives of mine. He told me their names. Later one of those female relatives made claims about sexual abuse – but she would not name the person. Other encounters are more casual. Much of the time the dead are attempting to seek power or control over the living, where the minds remain entangled with the living, which is true in almost every case. However keep in mind that this is precisely the same as when they were “alive.” Nothing changes in this respect. People still play games with each other at a psychic level.

(These paragraphs added in light of Gary's comment, below). The reason I list life after death as "true beyond reasonable doubt" rather than "true" is that it might be that these energy fields which I experience are left over from the lives of the people involved, and now exist independently of those people. However I have to say this does not appear to be the case to me, especially where there are power plays involved - where they are attempting to manipulate and control me or others who are energetically connected to me.

I have also had many interactions with spiritual entities. It seems to me that the physical universe we experience everyday is just one small aspect of the universe, and one small aspect of who we are. It seems likely to me that upon death we gravitate to some other level of this "cosmos".

The final aspect that adds more weight to the idea of life after death, is my having seen and felt aspects of my past lives. Again, those perceptions and experiences might really be something else - like unconsciously "channeling" other people's consciousness fields, or collectives of consciousness. I'll write a bit more about that in part 2 of this topic, in about a week or so.

3) When you die you go to Heaven. False
The experiences I mentioned in the previous point lead me to conclude that when you die your mind is not transformed or elevated into a new level of consciousness. It may well be true that departed souls are greeted by “the light” and spiritual guides soon after death. However the dead retain their scars and psychological issues. These are recorded in the Soul Template. The essence of life after death is that your mind plays out dramas, and attracts to itself situations which reflect its belief structures, and the overall “vibration” of its resonance. So a mind full of fear and self-loathing will recreate an afterlife where it will experience persecution and denial. A more “enlightened” mind will attract more joyful experience. The idea of Heaven is a politically motivated concept put forward, mostly by mono-theistic religions. If you are good, you go to paradise. I prefer Leonard Jacobson's take on Heaven. Heaven is right here and now, when you mind exists in still presence, and is not cluttered up with past memories and projected futures. Gary Weber (see his comment below) would probably agree with this. Interestingly, Leonard believes in an afterlife and reincarnation, whereas Gary does not.

4) People can see the future. True
I have had too many premonitions over the years to see this as anything but certain. The only question for me is whether I am seeing the one set future, or a possible future which could be changed. For example, before the recent cricket world cup I had a vision that the Australian cricket team would be eliminated from the tournament at the quarter-final stage (Australia had won the previous three World Cups, and were undefeated for 12 years). A month later they were eliminated in the quarter-finals, as I’d seen.

The question then is, can we see into the future deliberately. I believe that in a general sense we can. This can be done through light trance state, and through strong intuitive feelings. Again, I write about these techniques in Discover Your Soul Template. However, the information gleaned is often general, fuzzy and cryptic. In other words it is not a simple case of "ask and you shall receive."

5) People can read each other’s minds. True
… with some qualification. It is possible for a person to read another’s emotional energy and attitudes, and the psychic projections of the ego can be read. I have seen many people do this, and just quietly I am pretty good at this myself. Jessica, who ran the spiritual group in New Zealand, was terrifyingly good at this. She could basically see straight through you. The first time I ever met her, I had had a disturbing vision while meditating that morning. In the vision I found myself looking down at my hands, and they were covered in blood. Later that day when I met Jessica, the first thing she said to me, before she even said hello was “I can see your hands covered in blood.” I am not making this up.

Mind reading can be learned. It is an innate human ability because the capacity for empathy is wired into our brains (mirror neurons), and our minds are not confined to our brains.I have seen many people develop this skill to a high level.

Now call the boys in white coats and take me away :-)

6)  The "soul" can travel out of the body. True
… again, with some qualification. The mind is not localised to the body, so some apparent out of body experiences do not actually involve the etheric body leaving the physical body. They are actually the mind perceiving information at a distance (ESP). Other out of body experiences involve the etheric body detaching and moving out into the world, or alternatively, into another astral dimension. I have had both kinds of out of body experiences. One time I found myself traveling out of my body, and riding along some power lines above a road (for some reason the etheric body is attracted to electricity). But I have also traveled out of the body into black, empty voids.

I do not consider out of body experiences to be desirable. They are typically caused by a dissociation between mind and body, and a subconscious desire to escape this world.

7)  There is an etheric body. True
I have not played around with this too much (I don’t see the point), but I have had several experiences where I have been able to manipulate the etheric body. This has occurred in the hypnogogic state between waking and sleeping, and independent of my will (or at least started out independent of my will). Basically, the etheric body is a subtle body double, and looks just like your actual body under normal circumstances. For example, sometimes I am able to move my etheric arms out in front of my chest, even though my physical arms are still by my side.  When I touch my etheric fingers together, I can feel them just like my real fingers. So they are connected to the nervous system somehow. I have also often had the bizarre experience of finding the etheric body of someone else lying beside me as I sleep. One time I awoke in the middle of the night to find my older brothers etheric hands resting on my chest. I grabbed them, got out of bed, threw them out the door and closed it. Another time an etheric baby attached itself to my back as I was sleeping on my stomach. I reached around with my etheric hands and touched it. It felt very real. I then told it that it could not stay, and it went away. To this day I don’t know if the baby was living or deceased.

In part 2 of this topic (which will be written about a week from now) I will comment about UFOs, alien life, demonic possession, past lives, ghosts and the end of the world. Not all of these iarequite as clear cut as the vitally important things that I have written about today, but each is significant in its own way.

"Light". A new novel by Marcus T. Anthony: Chapter 1

And now for something completely different! I am going to publish my novel Light chapter by chapter here on 22c+. I'll also put up a book icon on the home page, and that will include links to all the chapters, as they go up. There should be one or two chapters a week.
Light is a semi-autobiographical allegory. Many of the things written in Light actually happened. But some didn't. Some “events” in the novel occurred in my life within psychic space, not real space-time. If you want to work out which parts are true and which parts are fictional, use this rule of thumb: If the event is considered paranormal, it probably happened. ;-)
You’ll find many of the themes in Light mirroring those in my other more “‘serious” writings: exploring the frontiers of mind and intelligence, psychic and spiritual experience, the nature of society and education etc.
Light is the story of Greg Marks, who has several profound experiences which completely alter his sense of who he is and what he is capable of doing. He discovers that beyond the door of the physical world lies a powerful intelligence; a great light. As his “abilities” develop, he comes to realise that there are those who would prefer he remain quiet…
Please enjoy, and feel free to leave feedback, including critical feedback!

Chapter 1: Ruminations
There was a time when I wasn’t that bright. Seriously. Not like today. It wasn’t just that I didn’t know what I know now. I couldn’t do the things I can do now. Couldn’t know what I know now. In fact I couldn’t even imagine most of it. If someone had come up to me and told me that they could do what I can do now, I would have called the nurses on them.
The changes came slowly. Then when I started to understand what was happening, I worked out how to tweak it. That’s when the trouble began. People don’t like it when you show them up. And they get shit scared when they know you can see right through them, see that they are fake. That their world is fake. Then, when your very existence threatens the system, they want to eliminate the threat. That’s how I ended up dead a few times.
How can I begin? It’s when he sits down and actually starts tapping on the keyboard that a writer realises he has a decision to make. The choice is about depth. How deep should he go in revealing himself?
Yeah, that’s a bit sexist. A writer can be female. I know that. So if you are a woman, go ahead and sue me. I am a dead man anyway.
Let’s face it, we all wear masks. All of us. How much do we really let others know about our inner lives? How many secrets do we hide? Even from ourselves?
How much about someone do you really want to know? How deep do you want to go? If you stuck a camera in someone’s eye that could record everything he said and did, how interested would you be in seeing what the camera reveals? What if that little device could also record the thoughts of that guy? Would that turn you on?
Or would you turn it off?
Now, what if we take that idea right down, deeper than you have gone within your own mind. Imagine that you are able to peer right into the guy’s soul, into the dark country within him that even he has never dared venture?
There’s more. Maybe that tiny little hidden camera can record not only the sights, words, sounds, conscious thoughts and subconscious machinations of our unsuspecting friend’s mind, but then also reveal the very hearts and souls of all those other people around him.
I am the man who discovered the camera. I just didn't realise that it would cut right into the heart of the universe itself, and flay wide and broad the secrets of the cosmos. All those secrets.
I had to learn how to turn it off. If only I could forget.
Think about it. If all were revealed, would you stay, or would you take flight?
Before you call me mad, I have a story to tell.
OK, so there is no camera. What I learned doesn't require a machine.
I tell this story now because my own time here is limited, and what I discovered is something that should be told.
Must be told.
I said I’m going deep. I’m going to tell you everything. Well, almost everything.
Maybe there is no right time for something like this, and in revealing almost all I will likely be putting an end to my own existence in this world. I have already paid dearly, and all that I once knew and loved has been taken from me. But I was a different person then.
I got into a bad habit of dying too often. That was the problem.

The Consciousness of Skepticism

Behind die-hard skepticism lies a fear of loss of control, of the feminine, of annihilation and ultimately rage at the universe itself. Extreme skepticism is thus a projection. In this video I use a channeling process to connect with the consciousness of skepticism as a collective mind. Behind much of human behaviour, and lying embedded within all written, visual and verbal information there are consciousness fields which can influence perception. They are typically invisible and unconsciousness, but influence both the information being conveyed, and the way the perceiver receives that information.

"Connecting with the field" is a process I learned from working with spiritual teachers in years gone by. You can learn more about it in my book Sage of Synchronicity.

Love Ideas

Sorry for the lack of posts of late - I've been a bit busy! I have recently returned to beautiful Discovery Bay on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. I am also back working my full-time job as a secondary school teacher, even while polishing up these futures projects.

  • I'm working with my editor on getting my book Sage of Synchronicity ready for its release with Inner Traditions next year.
  • I'm finalising the booklet Urban Enlightenment, and the programme associated with it. That programme will be run in Hong Kong, over four weeks in November. I'm quite excited by that one, as it is a potentially life-changing event for participants.
  • I am also working on developing a 'learning how to learn' programme for high school students in Hong Kong. Hong Kong kids are smart, but don't always have exposure to a wide array of learning skills. They can get caught up in the rote-style of learning that tends to dominate in schools, and this can have a disastrous effect of their developing the life-long learning habit that is so essential in the modern age.
  • There is at least one more programme I'm developing. Recently HK tycoon Li Ka Shing decided he didn't need HK$300 million anymore, and has developed a great way to get rid of it - the "love ideas/love Hong Kong" campaign - www.loveideas.hk . I'm going to be submitting at least one programme, and I hope to be working with a few other wonderful people here in HK.

So you may not see so many long posts here in the immediate future, with my being so busy. However, I do promise to keep posting on a range of topics, although sometimes there may be only a little commentary, and a link to something worth noting.

Here's something that I found to be short, sweet, and fascinating. It's an easy-to-understand entry on Dean Radin's blog, and explains how one of the most famous experiments in parapsychology is undertaken. It's called the Ganzfeld, and involves a person being blindfolded and fed 'white noise'. Then the person has to try to guess what someone else is trying to send him/her via telepathy, from another location. It's worth checking out, for those who have always wanted to know how they do it - and perhaps why these kinds of experiments are criticised by skeptics. See if you can pick the correct card from the description!

Is the Future is Calling You?

“The state of empirical psi research continues to advance while the state of skepticism continues to stagnate. It doesn't take precognition to guess who will eventually win that type of debate. How long ‘eventually’ will be depends on how many people are actively engaged in research.”

Last Saturday evening I was walking past a bar in the Central district of Hong Kong, when I noted a game of rugby on the flat screen TV inside. Now I’m a bit of a rugby fan, being a former player, and since the game was between Australia and the New Zealand All Blacks, I ducked inside to check it out. To my great delight I saw that the game was already in the second half and that Australia was leading 22-9, with just 30 minutes to go. As an Aussie, this was too good to miss, so I sat down and ordered a glass of red wine as a pre-celebration drink for the impending great Aussie victory over the mighty All-blacks. A few minutes of viewing allowed me to see that Australia was dominating the game, and the All-blacks were being run all over the park. The NZ team looked like a complete rabble, like a ship without a captain. On the other hand Australia looked very sharp.  They looked certain winners, for to lose it would require a roughshod NZ team, who had been completely outplayed, to score two converted tries in the last 15 minutes.

At that point I did what I often do when watching sporting events. I measured the energy on the outcome using the Quick Check. I have found that this divination method is extremely reliable for picking the outcomes of sporting events (although if I am ‘following’ one of the teams, I sometimes get over-excited and get the reading wrong). I didn’t get the reading I expected or wanted. There was no ‘energy’ on Australia winning the game.

Allow me to backtrack a little.

The first time I realised that sporting events are actually determined before the opening whistle is even blown, was when I had a dream during the 1991 rugby world cup. One night during that time I had a dream where I saw the English captain Will Cahling being interviewed and thanking his supporters for the tremendous victory they’d had. The next day I learned that England were playing Australia, so I stayed up to watch the match with my flatmate. Even though at that time I had not really developed none of my ability in Integrated Intelligence, I felt strongly that the dream was a precognition. As the match progressed, Australia took the lead, and stayed there. In the final minute of the game, Australia was leading by one or two points, and they had the ball in hand (which means England would not be able to score). I told my flatmate that Australia would lose the ball and England would win. Well, I was only half right. An Australian player decided to kick the ball, and England took possession. It was literally the final second of the game, and he was on the half way line, way out near the sideline. I watched bemused as he ran backwards (away from Australia’s tryline, where he was supposed to be running!), suddenly pivoted, turned round, dropped the ball onto his foot. The dropkick straight sailed over the goal posts from an impossible position. Never looked like missing.

The full-time siren sounded. England had won. There followed a few ads, then Will Cahling appeared and thanked the English supporters, just as I'd 'seen' the night before. (As an aside, my flatmate was a die-hard science graduate and skeptic, and refused to accept that my prediction had been anything more than good luck, after I told him how I ‘knew’. I was a skeptic too at that time – but an open-minded one).

Another precognitive vision of a sporting event which I had was symbolic (in fact many precognitive dreams occur in symbolic form). It occurred just before the 2004 cricket world cup. Australia went into that competition as the reigning champions, but had lost a lot of games, including a warm-up game against a low-ranked team, and many people wrote them off. However, I had a dream which convinced me they were going to ‘wipe the floor’ in that competition. As I was half asleep thinking about the competition one night, a vision came to me of a giant wild boar, running towards the tryline on a rugby field. The image was of an unstoppable force (imagine being a rugby player and trying to tackle a great boar charging towards you!). I just knew that the boar represented the energy of the Australian team, and that it symbolised their path through the upcoming competition. The vision was true. Australia smashed all other nations and went through the competition undefeated.

I have also had many premonitions involving my participation in sports events. One Saturday morning about 15 years ago, when I was to play a game of rugby, I awoke and heard the song “You go and save the best till last” being blasted into my head (I often hear these songs to this day).  I felt strongly that it was to do with the game I was going to play. When I got to the playing field I was very disappointed to find I had been put on the reserves bench. I was a bit pissed off to tell you the truth, but remembering the song I had heard that morning, I decided to be patient and kept my mouth shut. I waited, and waited... Half time came and went, and the game was drawing to a close. Then with just two minutes left the coach threw me onto the field on the wing (which is where I played anyway). I had barely run on, when our half back made a short break in our own half. Bypassing my two inside centres, he sent a long cutout pass to me, perfectly timed, such that I was into open space. I ran the thirty metres or so to the line without a hand placed on me, and scored. There was no time for a restart, and the game was over. The best had indeed come at the last moment.

After I was taught the Quick Check, I became able to predict the outcome of most games before they even began. Or even during games. I remember that during the 2005 soccer world cup, I rang my wife, and she said she couldn’t talk because she was watching a game, and they were having a quick penalty shoot-out at the end. I did a Quick Check and told her Korea would win the shoot-out, and that she needn’t bother watching. I was right.

So, last Saturday as I watched the Australia/New Zealand game, I was somewhat shocked to ‘read’ that there was no energy on Australia winning the game, despite their dominant position with the minutes counting down. Sure enough though, New Zealand scored two late converted tries, and completely against the run of the game, ‘got out of jail’. They won by one point, 23-22.

I now know that most, if not all sporting events are determined before a ball is kicked, hit or touched down.

Even the specifics of individual plays are largely determined. One morning when I was to play a game of cricket, I awoke, and the number ‘26’ appeared in my mind’s eye.
